Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered strikes on Tuesday morning, according to a statement of the Prime Minister’s Office.
“This is followed by Hamas’s repeated rejection of the release of our hostages, as well as his rejection of all the proposals he received from US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediator,” it was said.
“Israel will now act against Hamas with increasing military power,” he added.
The Idf Plan for the strikes was introduced over the weekend and approved by political leadership, “the statement said.
The administration of US President Donald Trump advised Israel before spending the strikes, a spokesman for the White House for Fox News told.
Negotiators are trying to find the way forward after the first phase of temporary truck ended on March 1.
The United States suggested the extension of the first phase by mid -April, including the further exchange of hostages held by Hamas and Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
But the Palestinian official familiar with the conversations said that Israel and Hamas did not agree on the key aspects of the agreement that Witkoff set up for indirect conversations.
The last war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas killed more than 1,200 people in southern Israel, mostly civilians, with 251 he took hostage.
The attack launched an Israeli military offensive that has since killed more than 48,520 people, most of the civilians, according to the Ministry of Health in Hamas used by the UN and others.
Most 2.1 million Gaza populations have been displaced several times.
It is estimated that 70% of the buildings were damaged or destroyed, systems of health care, water and sanitary systems were demolished and lacked food, fuel, medicines and shelters.
