Bessent ‘not worried’ for the long -term market, assures that it will not be ‘crisis’


Scott Besent’s Treasury Secretary said on Sunday that he was not worried about US markets in the long run, although the shares last week fell in the middle of the president Tariff threats of Donald Trumpsaying to the Americans that there would be a “transition” and not a “crisis”.

“What is not healthy is straight, or euphoric markets,” he said. “So you get a financial crisis.”

Bessent noted that if “someone put brakes in ’06 -07”, that could prevent the problems they led to the fall of 2008.

“So I’m not worried about markets,” he said. “In the long run, if we set good tax policy, deregulation and energy security, the markets will make it great.”
