The Greenland government calls Trump’s acquisition “unacceptable”

Greenland’s government called the president Donald TrumpComments on taking control of the country “unacceptable” in a Friday statement.
Officers noticed that the statement was encouraged by Trump’s meeting with NATO Secretary General Thursday, when he allegedly “repeated his desire for the annexation and control of Greenland.”

“We – all party leaders – we cannot accept repeated statements regarding the annexation and control of Greenland,” the leaders wrote. “We consider this behavior to friends and allies in the defense alliance unacceptable.”
They added that “they must emphasize that Greenland will continue to serve their people through diplomatic relations, in accordance with international law.”

The document was signed by Greenland politicians Jens Frederik Nielsen of the Democaatit Party, Pele Broberg of Naleraq, Múte B. Egeda of Inuit Ataqatigiit, Vivian Motzfeldt of SIUM and AQQULA C. Jerimiassen.
“We all support this wholeheartedly and strongly distance ourselves from trying to create disagreements. Greenland belongs to the Greenland people, and we (as leaders) are standing in accordance with,” they wrote.
