“Guitar shark” and a snail with poisonous “harpons” among 866 new marine species discovered in the ocean

Over 800 marine species was only discovered after two years of collaborative efforts of scientists, the government, the museum and others who participated in the list of Ocean, a global alliance based to accelerate the discovery of marine life.

Ebert, also known as the “lost shark”, identified a shark at 200 m deep from Mozambique and Tanzania in Africa. This shark has 38 known species around the world and shares the characteristics of both sharks and air. Found at 2770m to 3575m in the Arctic Venchano Polje Jøtul, east of Greenland, this is the second species recorded for this genus, with the first quoted in the Norwegian Sea at 1100 m back in 1881.
