The Chinese Ministry of Trade held talks with Walmart: State media say

The Chinese Ministry of Trade spoke with Walmart after the US retail giant requested a reduction in prices from Chinese suppliers to the reimbursement of tariff costs, said the state media on Wednesday.

The announcement followed Bloomberg reported last Thursday This Walmart has asked some Chinese suppliers, including kitchen accessories and clothing producers, to lower prices for as much as 10% for each round of US tariffs.

“If this is true, Walmart is unreasonable that Chinese suppliers demand that they carry all tariffs, which will disrupt FER competition and an external trade order,” the report, according to the CNBC translation of Chinese.

Walmart’s reported move “can create the risk of supply chain disorders and harm the interests of Chinese and US companies and US consumers,” he added, warning of further actions if the company fails to correct its way.

An additional 10% of US President Donald Trump Chinese goods entered into force on March 4th.After 10% of the tariff imposed on February 4th.

Most Chinese suppliers are already struggling with the profit margin of “Britvica”, because the US company procures goods with great discounts to maintain its competitive advantage, Bloomberg reports.

Chinese and American companies should “work together” to answer us “unilateral imposition of tariffs,” said Chinese state media.
