Dick van Dyke collects money, at the same time brings joy to its fans.
The 99-year-old Hollywood legend has hosted an intimate event called Vandy Camp, in an effort to raise money for the California Brigade of the Community, an organization that helps to train volunteers to be better ready to respond to fires and other emergency situations.
Van Dyke, with his wife Arlene Silver and his singing group A Capella, Vantastix, entered the stage at Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu to sing several iconic songs from some of his most famous films.

While on stage, the actor and his wife paid tribute to one of Van Dyke’s most popular films, “Mary Poppins“While they both wore T -shirts with an illustration of his character in the film, along with the title of one of the songs he sings,” A step in time. “

“The return of the 60’s, I lived in the Mandeville Canyon, up on the ridge. That big fire in Bel-Air came in and we had to leave,” he explained. “We came back and our house was standing there, the houses on both sides were burned. That’s fate. Someone watching me.”
Van Dyke and his wife were forced to evacuate their home during the Franklin fire in December 2024, but did not have to during the Palidades fire in January 2025.
He spoke of his experience evacuating Franklin during the Fire during the “Today” appearance in December 2024, sharing her that he tried to protect his home from an angry fire and only fled closely.
