Anti-Israeli activist, Students who claim that he was a protest leader and a campsite at the Columbia University Campus in New York for months was arrested by US immigration and customs (ICE) agents, according to Fox News sources.
On Saturday Mahmoud Khalil was brought to custody in His apartment owned by the University On the upper west side of the city.
Ice agents told Khalil to act on the order of a state department to recall his green map and a student visa, according to Khalil’s lawyer, Amy E. Greer of Dratel & Lewis. Posted a statement that states The agents of the ice were wrongly arrested by Khalil.
“Last night, Ice agents were wrongly arrested by Mahmoud Khalil, claiming that his student visa was taken away -although Mahmoud is a legal permanent resident (green card), not in the US on a student visa,” Greer said. “Faced with this fact, Ice agents have attracted him anyway.”

Greer said that the company filed Habeas Corpus in “Mahmoud’s name as a validity of his arrest and detention” overnight.
“We do not know at the moment that Mahmoud’s accurate where he is. At first, we were informed this morning that he had been transferred to an ice object in Elizabeth, New Jersey,” Greer added.
“However, when his wife – an American citizen who became pregnant for eight months and last night threatened him to arrest by ICE agents – tried to visit him today, he was told that she was not detained there.”
Greer added that the company had received reports that Khalil could be transferred further as Louisiana.
“We will follow Mahmoud’s rights strongly in court and we will continue our efforts to correct this terribly and unforgivable – and calculated – wrongly committed against him,” Greer said.
“The arrest and detention of Mahmoud Ice follows an open repression of student activism and political speech of the US government, especially aiming at students at Columbia University for criticizing Israeli on Gaza. Fox News addressed the media affairs of Columbia, which would not confirm Khalil’s status at the University. Associated Press reported that Khalil graduated from Columbia in December.
“There were ice reports on the streets around Campus. Columbia is and will continue to follow the law,” the University was published in a statement on the school website.
“We want to communicate with our community again on the campus that we have a protocol, which includes telephone numbers to call in the event that you are approaching or outside the campus. In accordance with this protocol, and in accordance with our long-standing practice and practice of cities and institutions throughout the country, the implementation of the law must have a court order for non-Java university.”
“Columbia is dedicated to respecting all legal obligations and supporting our student body and campus community. We are also dedicated to the legal rights of our students and invite all members of the community to respect these rights.”

The Muslim Civic Rights Organization also came to Khalil’s defense and claimed that the “legal permanent resident” was vowed that “the fight was just beginning.”
“Columbia Mahmoud Khalil University graduate is a legal permanent resident of our nation who has not been charged or convicted of any crime,” said Cair National in the post on X.
“Decision on the Lawless Ministry of Internal Security to arrest him solely because of his peaceful activism against genocide, he is a clear attack on the first amendment on free speech, the laws of immigration and the humanity itself Palestinians. We and other civil rights groups in communication with Mahmoud’s legal advice.
The claim against Khalil was derived from his alleged involvement in the group of Apartheid University of Columbia, claiming he had Helped organize a “unauthorized marching event” The one celebrated Hamasov on October 7, 2023, an attack on Israel and played a “significant role” in the circulation of posts on social media criticizing Zionism, AP reported.
“I have about 13 charges against me, most of them are posts on social media that I had nothing to do with,” Khalil said last week.
“They just want to show Congress and right -wing politicians to do something, regardless of the roles for students,” he added. “It is mostly a refrigeration office of the Pro-Palestinian speech.”

Khalil’s arrest comes only a few days after President Donald Trump threatened to deport foreign students who were involved in what he calls “illegal protests” in the campus.
On Friday, the Management Board announced that it would abolish $ 400 million of federal grand and Columbia contract because the Ivy League school failed to protect Jewish students in campus.
