President Donald Trump was in Florida at the time of the shooting.
The secret service received information from the local police about the alleged “suicide individual” who traveled from Indiana and found a man’s car and a person that fits his description nearby.
“As police officers approached, an individual followed a firearm and an armed conflict, during which our staff fired shootings,” the statement said in a secret service.
The man is hospitalized. The secret service said his condition was “unknown”.
The Metropolitan Police Directorate will investigate because the shooting included lawmakers for law enforcement. The police department refused to provide more details.
