“He made it clear to him …” – Jason Gillespie reveals that Aaqib Javeda outlined his release “behind the scenes”
Former Pakistan Crush coach Jason Gillespie talked about Aaqib Javed wanted a team training in all three formats. He said the current team coach planned things behind the scenes, and was not surprised when he was appointed a temporary coach.
Things turn from bad to up between Jason Gillespie and the main coach of the national team for Crushkan Pakistan Aaqib Javed. Jason Gillespie, who was appointed coach of the Red Ball in Pakistan National Cricket team after the T20 2024 World Cup, was fired at the middle of his contract. In his place, Aaqib Javed was appointed a temporary coach and has now taken over the coaching team in all three formats.
Gillespie first blamed Aaqib Javed when the current main coach said that constant changes to the team management were the main reason for the bad performances. He called Jedve Clown, saying he made a conspiracy against him and Gary Kirsten.

Jason Gillespie, however, opened up about the same, saying that he always felt that things were going on behind the scenes. He emphasized that Aaqib Javed was appointed team coach always on cards. Speaking in the video posted on X, he said:
“He must have taken responsibility. He made it clear that he wanted to be the main selector and made it clear that he wanted the team to go into their job. And that’s okay. That’s his role. But in the end, when he took over the job, as you mentioned, I don’t know what the exact conversations were happening behind the scene, but I always felt things not happening.
“And it didn’t surprise me when he was announced as a temporary coach that it was, in my opinion, it was always on the cards. I always felt that it would happen. Read it as you want. But in the end, coming with him now stops this performance at Champions Trophy.”

Jason Gillespie gave a bold statement, saying that Aaqib Javed always wanted complete control. However, he quickly gave it, with performances that are not there, the coach must take great responsibility. He added:
“He wanted a role and he wanted complete control. He got the appearance and was not there. So, in the end, he has to bear a lot of responsibility. I think the selectors need to take a great responsibility for the team they chose to play in this tournament. And we saw the results and the results and they were not good enough.”
