The Nyc City Council speaker Adrienne Adams is running for mayor

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo He faces a new democratic challenger in an effort to replace Eric Adams as the Mayor of New York, according to reports.
New York Council President Adrienne Adams, 64, will officially launch her campaign with a set over the weekend, upon reporting Fox 5 nyc.
Since the democratic primary is only four months away, Adams is expected to pray immediately to secure the ballots.
In a press statement, Adams said that New Yorkers could not afford to live in the city, that the City Hall was “in chaos”, and claimed that President Donald Trump “corrupting the independence of our city. ”

“It’s time to get up. I’ve never planned to run for mayor, but I’m not giving up on New York,” Adams said in a statement, shared with politics for the first time.

For the first time in the 2017 City Council, Adams became the first President of the Black Council five years later.

Adams is the latest high figure who threw her hat in the ring, causing an anterior runner, former New York Government Andrew Cuomo, to replace NYC mayor Eric Adams.
Cuomo resigned in 2021. After a report published by the Attorney General concluded that he had sexually harassed nearly a dozen women.

Cuomo apologized for “offending” women with remarks he said they were intended for collegial and admitted that he was sometimes “too familiar” with people, but denied that he had touched anyone inappropriately and said the investigation of his behavior was a flaw and politically motivated.

The race comes after Mayor Eric Adams He was charged in September of federal charges of corruption. He is now involved in criticism after Trump’s newly stalled leaders of the Ministry of Justice have asked the court to give up the case, so Adams could help with the immigration of the Federal Government.
