Motorsport chart in the UK David Richards accused President Fia Mohammed Ben Sulayem of violated promises.
Richard is recently forbidden to participate in a meeting of the FIA World Council of Moto Sports, which is regularly met to discuss all the forms of motorcycle sports, including Formula 1, after deciding against signing the Uninitation Agreement (NDA).
NDA would forbid individuals to discuss issues related to FIA away from the Council meeting, and Richards says that his introduction was viewed as a “hustle and bustle command”
Richards, a former F1 team chief, supported Ben Sulayem’s candidacy as president of the FIA 2021, but he says it was because of the promise that he would be “committed to the president” and to ensure “complete transparency of the actions and the highest standard of management.”
In the message to members of the Motorsport UK, Richards wrote: “I am afraid that in the last three years there has been a distinct failure to fulfill these promises.
“In fact, the situation gradually worsened with media reports that confirm that many higher members of FIA -EEI volunteer officials or discharged or resigned under an opaque cloud.
“Furthermore, he was seriously limited and now lacked autonomy from the authority of the President, while our representative of the UK, who challenged certain questions, was summarized with the chairman of the audit chairman.
“This was becoming more and more worrying and, three weeks ago, was asked to sign a new confidentiality agreement I considered to be a” muffled order. “
“The construction of this new confidentiality agreement does not consistent with the FIA Statutes opposite the promises of the transparent management we voted for.
“Our lawyers from Motorsport Great Britain, together with our French legal advisor, challenged FIA in their actions, asking a clear set of questions to which FIA must answer. It is very disappointing to inform that we have not yet received an answer to that or the basic question I asked: where in FIA Statutes is providing a member of a member of the chosen member?”
Ben Sulayem, who has been involved in numerous controversy, is expected to have a FIA leader, he will be advocated by a re-choice when his four-year term expires in December.
After the reports were made that Richards were blocked from the meeting, initially from the BBC, the FIA spokesman said: “As the routine in all organizations, including the BBC, conducts procedures, including the non-discharge agreements to ensure confidential relations between all sides, for the protection of personal data and protection of our regulatory interests.”
Richards says the Motorsport UK Committee could be forced to consider further legal proceedings.
“Integrity is the fundamental value of the Motorsport UK -Ai that is central in what we are,” continued in the letter.
“These actions of FIA are violating our own statutes. As a result, we informed FIA that unless they deal with the problems we were initiated, we would be involved in further legal proceedings.
“In the year when the president will be re -elected or named new, it is more important than ever to remind the fia of their responsibilities and continue to understand them on behalf of the sport and their members around the world, and that is what I intend to do.”
