Courses for Champions League winners 2024/2025

The Champions League is the biggest European club cup competition that includes the best teams from the best leagues on the continent. The likes of 15-time European champions Real Madrid, seven-time winners AC Milan and six-time winners Liverpool and Bayern Munich are all looking to add to their tallies this season.

As things stand

Liverpool are at the top of the 36-team Champions League table, with six wins from six games so far and two more to go. Arne Slot’s Liverpool side have so far beaten AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid and Girona. The Reds still have to host LOSC Lille at Anfield and travel to Eindhoven to face PSV.

Reigning champions Real Madrid sit 20th in the new-look Champions League table, just five places away from complete elimination from the competition! Madrid have struggled this year, winning just three of the six games they have played in the UCL this season and losing the other three.

Madrid must finish in the top 24 to secure a place in the play-offs or in the top eight to automatically qualify for the round of 16. Real Madrid are currently 4 points from 8th place in the league, so it is not impossible that they will still qualify automatically. However, they need a flawless finish to the league stage. Ancelotti will be looking to avoid a play-off spot, as it means an extra two games added to Madrid’s busy schedule. These two matches will be played on February 11, 12, 18 and 19, 2025.

Another big name that is more likely to miss out on a knockout spot or even a playoff spot is French champions PSG. The Parisians currently occupy 25th place in the League. However, they are only one point behind Dinamo Zagreb, who have to face Arsenal next. While PSG also face a tough test against Man City.
