USA and Israel reject the Arabic alternative to Trump’s Gaza renewal plan

The US and Israel have rejected the Arabic plan for the post -war renovation of Gaza’s belt that would allow 2.1 million Palestinians who live there to stay in place.
The proposal, which the Arab leaders approved at the Cairo Summit is their alternative to the idea of President Donald Trump to now take over Gaza and permanently move its population.
The Palestinian administration and Hamas welcomed the Arabic plan, which invites Gaza to temporarily manage the Committee of Independent Experts and to deploy international peaceful people there.
But both the White House and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it was unable to deal with reality in Gaza and stood next to Trump’s vision.
Summit happened due to increasing concerns that a fragile contract to interrupt Gaza fire could be demolished after the six -week first phase had expired last Saturday.
Israel blocked the help of entering the territory to press Hamas to accept a new US proposal for temporarily lengthening a ceasefire, during which more hostages will be released in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas insisted that the second phase should begin as agreed, which led to the end of the war and the full withdrawal of Israeli troops.
Arabic plan of $ 53 billion (£ 41 billion) for gauze renovation after the war ended, Egypt presented at a meeting at an Arab League meeting in an emergency on Tuesday.
A statement that supports the plan emphasized “the categorical rejection of any form of displacement of the Palestinian people”, describing such an idea as “a rough violation of international law, a crime against humanity and ethnic cleansing.”
The plan envisages that the renovation takes place in three stages and lasts five years, during which about 1.5 million displaced Gazan will be moved to 200,000 prefabricated residential units and 60,000 repaired homes.
In the first phase, which would last for six months and would cost $ 3 billion, millions of tons of ruins and any unexploded commands will be cleaned.
The second phase, which lasted two years and cost $ 20 billion, would see that housing and utility services were being renewed. The airport, the two seaports and the industrial zone will be built during the third phase, which would last for another two years and cost $ 30 billion.
The Arabic plan also suggests that the “Administrative Committee” composed of independent Palestinian technocrats triggers a post -war gauze during the transitional period, “working to strengthen the Palestinian authorities to return.”
HAMAS – which Israel, the United States, forbidden the terrorist organization, took complete control of Gaza in 2007, expeling from PA, dominated by Fatah, in violent conflicts one year after winning the parliamentary elections. So he remained operating parts of the occupied west coast.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who leads, and, told the summary that he had welcomed the Arabic plan and invited Donald Trump to support him.
Hamas said he appreciated “Arabic position, refusing to move our people.”
However, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs quickly rejected a statement of the Arab league that supported the Egyptian plan, saying that “it fails to resolve the reality of the situation after October 7, 2023, remained rooted in obsolete perspectives.”
“Now, with the idea of President Trump, there is an opportunity for Gazans to have a free choice based on their free will. That should be encouraged!” It was added.
“Instead, the Arab countries have rejected this opportunity, without giving a fair chance, and continue to leve the unfounded charges against Israel.”
The spokesman for the White House National Security Council Brian Hughes said that the Arabic plan “did not turn to reality that Gaza was currently unannounced and the inhabitants could not humanely live in the territory covered with debris and an unploded command.”
“President Trump stands by his vision that Gaza is renewed by Hamas. We look forward to further conversations to bring peace and prosperity to the region.”
Last month, Trump suggested that he will now “own” Gaza and move his population, so he can renew and turn into a “Riviera of the Middle East”.
He said the displaced Palestinians would not have the right to return because they would have “much better accommodation” in Egypt, Jordan and other countries.
Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League, Hossam Zaki, told the BBC Wednesday that Trump’s approach is unacceptable.
“It is based on the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homes and their countries. It is against international law and, we said that this time again, this is not a way to treat this crisis that created a man,” he said.
“This is the war that Israel led partly with the aim of ejecting Palestinians from their territory,” he added.
He also described the response of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Arabic plan as “against humanity and against morality.”
Palestinians are afraid of repetition of Nakba – Arabic words for “disaster” – when hundreds of thousands fled or drove from their homes before and during the war that followed the creation of the state of Israel in 1948.
Many of these refugees ended up in Gaza, where they and their descendants make up three quarters of the population. Another 900,000 registered refugees live on the west coast, while 3.4 million others live in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, according to the UN.
The Israeli army launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 was taken to hostage.
Since then, more than 48,400 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the Hamas Territorial Ministry.
Most of the Gaza population has also been displaced several times. It is estimated that almost 70% of the buildings were damaged or destroyed; Health care systems, water, sanitary and hygiene have demolished; And lack of food, fuel, medicines and shelters.
