BCB refuses to pay for the salary of Shakib Al Hasan for this shocking reason
Ace Bangladesh versatile Shakib Al Hasan did not surprisingly receive his salary in the last four months of 2024, although he was under a central contract with the Bangladeski Cricket Committee (BCB). Shakib Al Hasan’s bank account was reportedly frozen and therefore his payment could not be cleaned.
Recently, the BCB announced an increase in players and a match fee, but Shakibin salary was not cleaned. Significantly, Shakiib received a contract on all formats last year last year, along with Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraza, Hossain Shanto and Shoriful Islam.
Shakiib Al Hasan has just received his salary as a BCB freezes payment through a bank account issue
The officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Committee admitted that the payment of Shakib Al Hasan was for September until December, and the reason for the delay was that his bank account was frozen. He allegedly owes a former Bangladesh skipper and owes the experienced comprehensive debt to the BDT 48 Lakhs ($ 38,400) before taxing from the BCB.

Cricbuzz quoted the BCB official: “The truth is that he (Shakiib) has yet to get a salary for September, October, November and December, which is largely due to the fact that his bank account has froze.”
On the other hand, the President of the BCB Crown Operation said: “He (Shakib) will receive his salary under the agreement, because if you play or not, there is an agreement and we will surely try to fulfill our commitment to the agreement.”
Shakiib Al Hasan couldn’t play the final test in Bangladesh for security reasons
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan hoped he would play his farewell test at home against South Africa after announcing retirement from the T20I test and the cricket during the Kanpurian test against India in September 2024. However, this could not have happened because of security issues.
During the India-Bangladesh series, Shakiib found himself trapped in legal problems, because he was charged in the event of murder during political unrest leading to the Government’s fall. However, BCB allowed Shakib to continue playing, saying that it would remain part of the team unless it was guilty.
Initially, BCB assured Shakiba that he could return to Bangladesh for a test in South Africa without any problems. Later, the Committee reviewed its decision due to potential disorders, especially after the ICC Women’s World Cup was moved from Bangladesh to UAE for security problems.
Mushfiquir Rahim and Mahmudullah were supposed to be rejected from a go team
The comprehensive, which became the target of his political involvement, suffered another failure on November 6, 2024, when his bank accounts were frozen. Despite his withdrawal from the tests and T20i, he looked at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, but his hopes were broken after they failed to make a composition due to his suspicious bowling action.
Recently, BCB stated that older players Mushfiquiquur Rahim and Mahmudullah will have to prove that they would earn a place in the Gad team after a disappointing appearance at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Nazmul said, “Considering their age and performances, this is not really my call, but the selectors. It would not be right to comment, but it will not be very easy.”
