Mohammad Amir all but confirms that Haris Rauf won’t play CT

Former Pakistan Pacer Mohammad Amir has caused concern about the availability of Haris Rauf for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which should start on February 19. Amir stated that Harris could miss the entire tournament, adding that the injury could require a longer recovery and rehabilitation period.

Haris Rauf suffered muscular sprains in the lower chest during the introductory match of the Tri-National Series to go against New Zealand. Pacer with his right hand was bowling 6.2 crossing before leaving the terrain at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. He immediately rested the rest of the series as a “precautionary measure”.

The injury is not serious and is expected to be fully recovered – the Pakistani Cricket Committee

According to the Pakistani Cricket (PCB) board, Rauf suffered muscular spraining in the lower wall of the chest, which led to its exclusion from the remaining three-series matches. However, PCB has convinced that the injury is not serious, and it is expected to recover in time for the 2025 champion trophy.

“The injury is not serious and is expected to be fully recovered for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which begins in Karachi on February 19,” read a PCB statement.

Rauf played a crucial role last year in Pakistan’s historic victory in Australia. He was deadly with his raw pace, taking 10 shots and worrying Australian blows throughout the series.

Haris Rauf cannot be fully recovered six weeks ago – Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir said that if Haris Rauf had lateral stress, it would take at least six weeks for complete recovery, followed by rehabilitation.

“If Haris Rauf has lateral stress, he can’t fully recover six weeks ago. If it’s just stiffness, then it’s different,” Amir said. “If it is the first or two side stresses, no matter what, it will take six weeks and then rehab begins,” Amir said, Geosuper.tv reports.

It will be stupid to risk his career for three matches – Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir shared his experience of gaining similar injuries during the Pakistani Super League (PSL). He stated that if Haris Rauf had one or two lateral stresses, it is unlikely to recover for a champion trophy on time. Amir also advised the Pakistan Cricket Committee against a rush with the return of Rauf.

“I got this injury during PSL a few years ago. If it is the side progress of the first or two classes, then I don’t think he can play the champion trophy. I think it will be stupid to risk his career for three tournament matches because they will not be able to give his 100 percent, “Amir said.

Pakistan will start his campaign of Trophy champion 2025 against New Zealand on February 19 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, who is also the tournament opener.

They will take over the rival India in their second group stage on February 23 in Dubai, followed by a conflict with Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpinda. Rauf’s availability for the introductory game remains uncertain as it continues to recover from the injury.
