Celtic are expected to sign the “special” star on a £110,000-a-week loan deal this month
Celtic they are now expected to sign the “special” player on a £110,000-a-week loan this month, according to a new report.
Celtic transfer news
This January could be a busy month for the Hoops as they look to continue their dominance in Scotland as well as reach the knockout stages of the Champions League. Brendan Rodgers and co won’t look like they’re very busy, but there could be one or two arrivals and probably one or two departures on the cards over the next few weeks.

This week it was announced that Celtic are closing in on signing Altay Bayindir from Manchester United. The Turkey international has struggled for regular playing time since joining the Red Devils and has remained the second goalkeeper this season at Old Trafford, behind Andre Onana. Bayindir wants to play more football and, with United open to the idea of selling, a move could be on the horizon this month.
But as Celtic eye one arrival, they face the prospect of waging a battle to keep hold of one of their key players. Genoa and Olympiacos have expressed interest in signing Celtic winger Luis Palma. Palma performed well last season, his first campaign at the club, but seems to have fallen out of favor with Rodgers this season. That being the case, Genoa and Olympiacos are interested in signing the winger, but the Hoops are not interested in selling Palma.
Celtic are expected to sign the £110k “special” player on loan
Bayindir is not the only player the Hoops have on their radar, as according to The Sunday Mail, as reported by the Daily Cannon, Celtic are expected to sign Kieran Tierney on loan from Arsenal this month before joining on a permanent three-year deal in the summer, which will be a boost for Rodgers.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that negotiations had begun in terms of Celtic re-sign Tierney. The left-back is out of contract at the end of this season, but he said talks are underway to reach a deal this month, with Tierney keen to return to Celtic Park.
This report now states that Tierney is indeed set to join the Hoops this month, with him joining on a six-month loan deal before signing a permanent deal in the summer. The Scottish international is expected to sign a three-year contract at the end of the season.

Tierney, who he earns £110,000 a week at the Emirates Stadium, he has been at Arsenal since August 2019, when he joined from Celtic. Mikel Arteta was delighted to bring the left-back to Arsenal, calling him “special“. He said: “I’m really looking forward to working with him and giving him a chance to play. His attitude, his commitment, his will, it’s incredible. I think he will bring us something special.”
Tierney was a key player for Arsenal, but he started picking up injuries on a regular basis and this led to him losing his place in the side. He spent the second part of last season on loan at Real Sociedad, and since his return he has made one appearance for Arsenal, in the EFL Cup.
