HP Executive Director says he is considering moving some production to us
(Bloomberg) – CEO of HP Inc. Enrique Lores said that the hardware manufacturer is considering moving some of his production to the United States because President Donald Trump threatens nations around the world with tariffs and pressure from corporations to invest more in the country.

The move to American production is “one of the scenarios we think about,” Lores said in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Friday. However, he emphasized that the company based in California fell Alto did not make a decision. He also cited the challenges in returning surgery to the US.
“It’s not just a set to do – that’s what it will take to bring all the different components and different suppliers we have and produce them here?” Lores said. This will be a much longer process, which is part of the evaluation we do. “
Among the obvious incentives, Lores said, saving money by bringing the products closer to where the company customers are and respond faster to customer demand. “There are advantages to build products locally, so we moved from a very centralized model that we had a few years ago on a decentralized model.”
Just a day earlier, Lores said in an interview that the growing cost of components and US tariffs on imports from China are deployed to profit. However, a variety of supply chain helps HP to alleviate most of the influence, and said he expects to come from China by the end of the fiscal year less than 10% of sold goods in North America by the end of the fiscal year.
HP shares decreased on Friday by 7.2% after the company gave the prospect of profit for a liquid quarter that was missing expectations.
