Barcelona confirm Vitor Roque Palmeirasa
Barcelona confirmed the departure of Vitor Roque striker, who on the permanent joined the Brazilian side of Palmeiras agreement.
Roque fought in a few minutes after his arrival in Barcelona in January 2024. And eventually he went on loan for the summer, joining Real Betis in an agreement that included the possibility of a move to become a lasting around € 25 million (£ 20.6 million).
Palmeiras, however, pointed to a concrete desire to immediately sign Roque for that fee. Barcelona Agreed, but he had to convince Betis to break the loan loan before any agreement could be reached.
Betis was not enthusiastic at first, but Barcelona sweetened the contract by offering a larger share in the rights of the wing player Abde. Betis bought 50% of Abde 2023 rights, but reports state that the share was now increased to 80%.
After the loan was abolished on Friday, Roque has now sealed his return to Brazilian football with Palmeiiras.
“I’m very proud to be part of the Palmeiras family,” Roque said after ending the move. “These were tense days, full of anxiety for me and my family, but luckily, in the end everything worked. It is an honor to wear the biggest Brazilian champion.”
This move leads to the end of a disappointing stay in Europe for Roque. Barcelona paid the initial 30 million euros to sign Roque in the summer of 2023, and the contract also included an additional € 31 million in accessories. He arrived in Spain six months later, but scored only two goals for Barcelona because he found himself behind Robert Lewandowski in a baking order.
