Pope Francis Remains hospitalized in Rome after it was diagnosed with double pneumonia two weeks ago, but is in a continuous state of improvement, according to a statement from the Vatican at the end of Thursday.
“Like in the previous days, the Pope had a quiet night and now he is resting,” said the Vatican, especially omitting the word “critical” from his update for the second day in a row.
The statement states that high -flow oxygen therapy is now involved with ventilations with ventilations.

Siegel also touched the pope oxygen therapy with high flow, Explaining that treatment is used for breathing problems, “but not as aggressive as CPAP (continuous positive respiratory pressure) or mechanical ventilation.” Siegel said he was a “good sign” that the Pope was not on the ventilator.

The Pope has struggled with health problems for years, and even needed part of his lungs in 1957 after fighting pneumonia at the age of 21. He was also undergoing heart surgery in 2021 and 2023.
