Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., had Trump called pardon activists convicted under the FACE Act since the President took the oath of office.
“No administration in history has targeted Christians like the Biden administration. We’ve seen one persecution after another, from church closings during COVID to dawn raids on the homes of pro-lifers. EVERY lifer that Biden wrongfully incarcerates should be pardoned,” Hawley wrote on X.
Hawley said he spoke with Trump about the potential pardon plan Thursday morning, saying they had a “great conversation.”

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, also introduced legislation that would repeal the FACE Act. Many lawmakers have argued that Democratic administrations have used it as a weapon against pro-life groups and Christians.
“97% of FACE Act prosecutions between 1994-2024 were against pro-life Americans; it is ridiculous to argue that the law was not a weapon. Let’s put HR 589 on the President’s desk and end this once and for all,” said Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, in a statement reacting to news of the pardon.
