The White House plans to determine which news has access to President Donald Trump, taking control from the Association of Journalists after more than a century.
Changes, announced on Tuesday by Karolina Leavitt’s printed secretary, mean that the White House will determine which outlets they participate in in the “pool” that covers the presidential events and shares material with other media.

“The White House Printing team in this administration will determine who will enjoy a very privileged and limited approach in premises such as Air Force One and oval office,” Leavitt said on the briefing for the news on Tuesday.
She said that the changes would allow “new media” outlets – including the services of Streaming and Podcast – to “share this terrible responsibility”.

Whca has expressed concern that the move will benefit from the White House by providing access to newspaper outlets that he considers sympathetic or friendly.

Leavitt, meanwhile, said whca would no longer have a “monopoly” in the pool control.
President Trump asked about the announcement in the oval office later on Tuesday. “We’ll call those shots,” he said about the changes.
Earlier this week, The US Judge Declained Associated Press To immediately bring access to the presidential events after Trump’s administration blocked the agency in the dispute over the term “US Bay”.
The news agency refused to change its style from the Gulf of Mexico to the “US Bay” after being renamed by President Trump with an executive command.
AP claims that the prohibition is retaliation and violates the rights to the first amendment to freedom of speech and print.
The ban meant that the AP – to which hundreds of news rely on – failed to access the press events along with the rest of the pool in the White House as well as by aircraft.
The hearing is scheduled for March 20th.
