Harbhajan Singh defends Rohit Sharma against dressing room allegations

“You seem to be getting your information from the dressing room. Who is your source? Shall I say? I know who is playing this dirty game paying you to tweet about an honest man,” Harbhajan hit back on social media leaving no room for ambiguity.

His fiery response reflected his frustration at what he called a “dirty game” aimed at tarnishing Rohit’s image. The veteran spinner demanded responsibility and called out those spreading misinformation.

In another heated exchange, a fan insinuated that true leaders don’t abandon their teams in the middle of a series. Harbhajan’s reply was sharp and cryptic.

“Main jaanta hu kaun bhaaga tha. Yaad dilau? Kaaran bhi bataaunga, rongte khade ho jaayenge (I know who ran away. Do I need to remind you? I can also tell you the reason, you would get chills),” he wrote, suggesting that the story has more than it seems at first glance.

Amid the growing chatter, Rohit Sharma finally addressed the issue during Day 2 of the ongoing Sydney Test. Speaking to the official media, the Indian captain dismissed the off-field noise, stressing that it had no effect on the players.

“It doesn’t affect us because the players here are made of steel. We’ve done our best to make these players. You see, we can’t control certain things and we don’t want to worry about those things. We don’t want to waste time on that,” he said. Rohit, resolutely minimizing any distractions.

Rohit’s struggles and decision to retire

Rohit Sharma’s absence from the Sydney Test fueled further speculation. The decision to rest came after a string of poor performances, with the captain managing just 31 runs in three Tests at a poor average of 6.20. His highest score was only 10.

In his absence, Shubman Gill he was brought in to strengthen the batting order. However, Gill too could not do much magic in both the innings and was dismissed cheaply.
