Former Attorney General in Kentucky Daniel Cameron on Thursday announced that he was running to replace Senator Mitch McConnellR-ky., In the upper chamber of Congress.
Cameron, who was the first Black Attorney General in Kentucky, announced his Senate campaign just minutes after McConnell said he would not seek re -elections in 2026.

Democratic state envoy Pamela Stevenson of Louisville has long been raising funds to run for McConnell’s place, according to The Courier Journal.
