Darts News: Ryan Searle wins player championship 4 as Michael van Gerwen misses home event | News Darts

Ryan Searle secured his sixth protoor title with a strong victory over Cameron Menzies in the play Championship 4, while Michael Van Gerwen was sitting on a home ground.
Searle produced a lot of top screen in the autotron on the way to the finals, where he rejected the Menzies 8-3 to become the first player to not overpower to win the 2025 ranking title.
In the first round over Florian Hempel, a convincing victory over Mensur Zaklovic and Owen Bates followed, and Searle continued his charge with the stubborn victories over Irish couple Mickey Mansell and William O’Connor.
Searle passed the final leg in the semi-finals to mock Stefan Bellmont 7-6 in the semifinals, then turned eight of 12 attempts at double to beat Menzies in the final with an average of 100.7.
“I played very well in practice, so prove it this week fantastic,” Searle said. “It’s amazing to win six PDC titles, especially when you look at a list of great players who have never won the PDC title.
“Winning the title for six years to run is a great achievement for me, and if I manage to win another one this year, it will be another limit crossed.”
Van Gerwen decided not to compete at the event on Tuesday, A day from an amateur shock shot by Michael Flynn at a player championship 3With Luke Humphories, Luke Littler and Gary Anderson, among other Touring card owners not in action.
As Searle beat Menzies to the Dutch victory
Menzies began the process of glossy 145 surpassed – starting a series of four consecutive postures – before Searle registered the legs of 13 and 12 darts to establish 4-2 buffers.
