‘Father Nutelle’ Francesco Rivella dies in 97 years

Italian chemist Francesco Rivella, best known as the inventor of Nutella, died on Valentine’s Day, according to various news. He had 97.
Called “father” Nutella by Italian media, Rivella helped to create the world’s most famous hazelnut spread.
Rivella started working in Ferrero – an Italian Company for Chocolate and Confectionery – 1952, ten years before Nutella was presented in the world, Jam Press news agency reported.

He was 25 years old and was fresh from acquiring a diploma from Bromatological Chemistry in Turin.
Rivella worked at Ferrer’s “Chemistry Room”, where some of the most significant brand creations were born.

It was part of the Ferrero team responsible for the study of raw materials for the development of new products by mixing, refining and tasting the ingredients in search of perfect flavors.
During her long career in Ferrerou, Rivella eventually became a senior company manager, founded in 1946 by the namesake Pietro Ferrero.

Rivella collaborated closely with Ferrer’s son Michele Ferrero, who took over the family business, serving as a right -hander, says Jam Press.
The first iteration of what would become Nutella originally called Gianduyot, derived from Gianduja – Sweet Made of chocolate and hazelnuts – and sold in 1946.

Rivella survived three sons, daughter and seven grandchildren. Michele Ferrero died on February 14, 2015 – 10 years until the day before Rivellalline’s death.

Rivella funeral is scheduled for Monday in Alba, where he lived after retirement. According to reports, it will be laid to rest in Barbaresco.
