Ruben Amorim challenges Marcus Rashford over Man Utd recall
Ruben Amorim has insisted that Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future is completely in his hands.
Rashford was left out of four consecutive matches last month – a period in which he also admitted his desire for a “new challenge” – before being left unused on the bench last time out against Newcastle United.
He is he is expected to miss Sunday’s match with Liverpool due to illnessbut Amorim insisted on the door remains open to Rashford in order to force his way back into the fight when he recovers.
“I already talked a lot about Marcus, it depends more on him than on me,” said Amorim Sky Sports News. “He must really, really want it. He’s here, he’s in our team, so he’s our player and he’s ready to play if I decide.
– If he is there, he is ready to play.
Rumor has it that Rashford has turned down the opportunity to earn a £35million-a-year salary in Saudi Arabia, after deciding he would just leave United for a club that can increase his chances of returning to the English team.
Behind the scenes, Rashford is not believed to be agitating for a move away from United and has even responded positively to Amorim’s public challenges as he looks to fight his way back into the starting line-up.
