Keyshawn Davis became the world champion for the first time while knocking out Denys Berinchyk at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York to ask for a WBO light title.
Davis dominated the previously undefeated Berinchyk (19-1), overthrowing Ukrainian in the third round with his body before he did it again in the next period to end the duel.
The victory improved the professional silver medal record in Tokyo at 13-0 (9 KO) and sets potential mega fights with colleagues with gentle world champions Gervont Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko.
“It was an amazing feeling,” Davis said in the ring after the fight.

“But if they got the gut to step into the ring with a ‘businessman’, tell them to send me a contract or I will send them one.”
