Putting America first So the protection of our region – retaining deadly drugs such as fental from our cities, deporting illegal migrants and criminals and stopping the economic, technological and political influence of communist China throughout our hemisphere.
I decided to make my first trip as President Donald TrumpState Secretary on the five of our strongest democratic partners for a good reason. This is our region, but too often it is simply neglected during the previous administration. During my stay in US Senate, regional leaders often complained that it seems better for an American enemy than his friend. Well, no more.
My visit to Panami, El Salvador, Kostariki, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic has won current results.

Panama comes out of Chinese orbit debt. El Salvador agreed to take over the deportation of any citizenship. Costa Rica expands cooperation with us against drugs, crime and terrorists.
Guatemala committed to receive 40% more flights of deportation. And with our help, in the Dominican Republic, the United States seized an aircraft that belonged to a higher member of the Venezuela regime used to avoid US sanctions.
These progress and many others are now possible because nations in our hemisphere know that under the guidance of President Trump we will be firm in opposing our opponents, generous in rewarding our allies and sure about the insurance of our interests of national security.
This healthy approach is already paying dividends for our partners and for the American people.

China has been gaining a greater impact on the area of the Panama Canal for years, threatening the neutrality of the channel and the safety of America. But all it needed was a warning from the United States at the dangers of China for Panama to commit to leave the Chinese initiative of the belt and road.
The Biden administration had chilled relations with El Salvador by obviously demolishing its democratically elected president. But at my first meeting as a state secretary with Nayib Bukele, he offered to close the violent illegal migrants – not only from El Salvador, but from any country – on behalf of the United States.
AND Costa Rica leaders, Guatemala And the Dominican Republic also reached out to help. Together, we strategic to defeat the threats of US sovereignty in any form that is from Chinese 5G telecommunication spying, illegal migration or transnational crime union. And each foreign leader renewed his promise to accept deportation from our country.

These bold gestures of friendship do not go unnoticed. The new memorandum of understanding the civil nuclear cooperation of the United States with El Salvador is an example of benefit that our partners can expect when they help us with further goals. This is also an example of how compromises of healthy sensitivity can expand safety, safety and prosperity not only for themselves, but also for all who share our common home on our hemisphere.
The contrast between the last three weeks and the previous four years is difficult to overestimate. Just a few months ago, the whole region seemed to turn to China. The country after the ground became prey to criminals and cartels. Tiranian regimes in NicaraguaVenezuela and Cuba worked to use our diplomats. This will no longer be the case. As I said during my press conference in Costa Rica, these three regimes are enemies of humanity.
What has changed? Simple – we have acquired the president and administration, not wanting to stand and let the American influence decline in our region.

These early successes from America Trump prove several important points.
For one thing, prove that now the priority of his interests, but also to those of ours Allies in our hemisphere. They are more naturally aligned with us than with a distant dictatorship like China. They will only match this when the United States moves to the field to their opponents.
The second point that these successes prove is that America first not only means America. The accusation of isolationism is ringing falsely, as this administration will achieve mutually useful contracts with our international partners whenever and wherever possible – and always in accordance with our interests.

This approach to foreign policy is pragmatic, but it is not leaving our values. It is simply based on realism, not utopian ideology. And that’s It already brings success.
I look forward to a similar or even greater success on the following trips. Other nations around the world, from our own region to far -off the country, recognize that America is big again. And in partnership with us, America will be great again.
