The driver of the Nascar and Arca Menards Benny Chastain died at the age of 82. The news of his death on February 9, 2025, welcomed the outburst of the honor of the racing community and fans around the world. Many headed for social media to remember his contributions in the car races and his presence in the Arco garage.
Chastain, who competed in the Arca Menards series for two decades, began his racing career at a relatively late age, he debuted his debut of the Arca Menards 2004 series at South Boston Speedway when he was 55 years old. Despite not competing in full working hours in the series outside the season 2006, he remained fixing to ARCA, he gained a reputation with a dedicated and passionate driver. His best ending in the series was 15th in Daytoni 2020.

Fans’ messages began to pour out shortly after. Some praised Benny as a beloved figure in the arco garage, while others loved their interactions with him with love. Zachary Tinkle, CRA welding champion for CRA’s welding for 2019, paid tribute to Chastain, remembering his short interactions with him,
“Really sad to find out about the passage of my colleague Arca competitors, Benny Chastain. I had to race with Benny 2022 in Daytoni, and from the brief interactions we had, he was always very dear to me. Many loved in the garage Arca, and we will miss us.
“Former Arca Menards Benny Chastain driver died at the age of 82. The last Arca started in Daytoni 2022, finishing at 25th place for fast races,” another post read.

In 2004, Chastain debuted in the Arca Menards series, finishing 22. His career arrived best in 2020 in Dayton, where he was 15th. Despite starting his racing career with 55, he remained a competitor in sports, and the last started in Dayton 2022 at the age of 79, finishing 25th.

In 2011, Benny Chastain participated in a special initiative, along with his dreams of car races. At the age of 68, he joined with AARP and a ride campaign to end Hunger (DTEH) to raise awareness of senior hunger while competing in the Arca Racing series.
Chastain, driving 75 Bob Schacht Motorsports Arca Car, united with AARP to compete in eight races during the season. The sponsorship agreement aimed to highlight the issue of hunger among the older Americans, at the same time supporting Chastain’s passion for races. The campaign included collecting funds, consciousness programs and the initiative for grant grant to fight hungry across the country.
“I am delighted to transfer my races to a new level as I serve a cause that can help millions of American seniors,” Chastain said at the time. “This is an opportunity to gather an ARCA racing community around a terrible problem and help find the solution.” (via disabled-working.com)
Aarp’s Chief Director Emilio Prado praised Chastain’s involvement. He said,
“Benny represents generations of older Americans who wonder,” What is the following? “We are excited to have returned him for 2011 to continue chasing his racing dream, as they return to cause to help the fighting seniors.”
Chastain’s Drive to end the Hunger car had a special livre, pointing out, showing the campaign logos. The initiative encouraged fans and corporations to contribute through the text program to Donat and trace activation.
