Two American tourists suffered injuries in the apparent attack of sharks with Bahamas on Friday night, according to local authorities. The details of their conditions are not clear, though it is said that he was seriously wounded.
Tourists, both women, swam in the popular Bahamy’s Bimi Bay resort when the attack occurred around 6:30 pm, said Royal police forces of Bahams. Bimini Bay is a part of the westernmost islands in Bahamas, some 50 miles from Miami.
“Initial reports indicate that the victims, both residents of the US, sustained injuries while swimming in the waters in Bimini Bay,” the police wrote in a statement, which is underway to investigate the incident.
Both tourists first received medical attention at a nearby clinic before being transferred to New Providence, a different Bahamian island, for further treatment, the statement said. Police said injuries to one of the victims are considered serious since Saturday.

Bahamas have one of the highest shark attacks, although the data show that they are still extremely rare.
