Here’s what happened during Trump’s third week in the office
President Donald Trump On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benajamin Netanyahu welcomed the White House, marking the first visit of a foreign leader during Trump’s second term.
During the visit of Netanyahu, Trump also discovered huge plans, suggesting that the US would “take over” the Gaza lane in a “long -term owner’s position” to provide stability in the region.
“Now they will take over Gaza’s belt, and we will do a job with him too,” Trump said on Tuesday night at a joint press conference with Netanyahu. “We will own it and be responsible for dismantling all the dangerous, non -exploded bombs and other weapons in place.”
Nevertheless, Karolina Leavitt’s White House Secretary said that the president would not oblige the US troops to place the Earth in Gaza as part of the effort to renovate.
“It very clearly became clear to the president that the United States should be involved in this effort of renovation in order to ensure stability in the region for all people,” Leavitt told reporters on Wednesday at a printing press at the White House. “But that does not mean that they will boots on the field in Gaza. This does not mean that US taxpayers will finance this effort. That means that Donald Trump, who is the best job on the planet, will make a contract with our partners in the region.”
Trump does not undertake to put troops on the ground in Gaza, says the White House
Leavitt said Trump is a “extraordinary thinker” who is a “visionary leader who solves problems for many others, especially in this city, claiming to be unreasonable.”
The announcement caused a return reaction, from democratic legislators, to the leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
“What President Trump has stated on his intention of moving the inhabitants of Gaza’s belt outside him, and the United States controls over the comic book by force is a crime against humanity,” Hamas’ tall official for Fox News said on Wednesday.
Here are some more actions that Trump has taken over his second week on duty:
Maximum pressure on Iran
Trump also returned his campaign “maximum pressure” against Iran, referring to the Ministry of Finance to perform “maximum economic pressure” on Iran with a series of sanctions aimed at sinking of Iranian oil exports.
Trump said on Tuesday that he was “torn” for the signing of the order and admitted that he was “unhappy to do so”, noticing that the executive command was very difficult towards Iran.
“We hope we won’t have to use it much,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday.
Trump later told reporters at a joint press conference with Netanyahu that he believed that Iran was “close” to the development of nuclear weapons, but that he would now prevent the “strong” teheran to get it.

“They are very strong at the moment and we will not allow them to get nuclear weapons,” Trump said.
His first administration also adopted the initiative of the “maximum pressure” against Tehran, issuing greater sanctions and sharper violation.
Strict sanctions were transferred to Iran after Trump withdrew from the Iranian Agreement, known as a common comprehensive plan of action, in May 2018. The 2015 agreement broke out in Obama’s administration abolished sanctions on Iran in exchange for the limitations of the Iranian nuclear program.
Sanctions against the International Criminal Court
Trump also signed an executive order on Thursday, which has sanctioned the International Criminal Court (ICC), in response to his arrest warrant in May 2024.
Command – which was praised by even some top democrats – reveals financial sanctions and visa limitations against ICC officials of their family members who support ICC investigations against US citizens and allies.
On Thursday, the White House also signed the executive commands, instructing the Ministry of Justice to establish a working group dedicated to the removal of the “anti -Christian bias”, and to review all non -governmental organizations that accept federal funds.
ICC is an independent, international organization based in The Hague and founded according to the Roman Statute, an international contract that entered into force in 2002. The court oversees global issues, including genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
Trump’s White House claims that the United States and Israel are not subject to the competence of the ICC because the court represents threats to American sovereignty and constitutional protection. In addition, the White House accused the ICC of politicization and said that she aimed at Israel without holding a regime like Iran according to the same standards.
Fund of sovereign wealth
The US Treasury and Trade Department will establish a sovereign wealth fund in accordance with new executive commands Trump Signed on Monday.
Fund of sovereign wealth, state -owned investment fund with various financial assets such as shares and bonds, could file an account for the purchase of TICTOK, Trump reports.
“We’ll do something with Tiktor, and maybe not,” Trump told reporters on Monday. “If we do the right job, we will do it. Otherwise, we won’t.”
The Scott Beesent Secretary Secretary said that in the next 12 months, a fund of sovereign wealth will be created.
