USAID could break the staff to hundreds after he put the most on leave
The US Foreign Aid Agency could see that its staff decreased from about 10,000 to less than 300 global, because Trump administration makes up a major decrease in state consumption.
All except several essential staff will already be placed on administrative leave at midnight on Friday, including thousands of headquarters abroad. An online notice says that a plan for return trips and the breakdown of irrelevant performers is being prepared.
One union that represents employees – which is involved in the legal challenge of the plan – said BBC’s US partners CBS News to be considered only 294 staff.
Trump’s reduction in USAIDs – advocated by his advisor to reduce the cost of Elon Musk – they have set a global assistance system, with hundreds of programs that are already frozen in countries around the world.
His team accuses USAID of spending taxpayers’ money and is not aligned with the priorities of the “American First” policy.

The US are by far the only only humanitarian aid provider around the world. There are bases in more than 60 countries and works in dozens of others, with most of the work performed by performers.
The application plan that would have left less than 300 staff has described as “amazing” former USAID chief Brian Atwood. In an interview with Reuters news agency, he suggested that the move could kill an agency that saved millions of lives.
The American Association for Foreign Services (AFSA), which suggested that only 294 staff were on a “important” list, joined with the second working group, the US Federation of Government employees (AFGE) to file a lawsuit for the plan.
In addition to Trump, the lawsuit is aimed at US State Department, USAID, Ministry of Finance, Secretary of State and Scott Treasury Minister.
The lawsuit claims that the President violates the US Constitution and Federal Law trying to disassemble the agency. “None of the actions of the accused of removing USAIDs have been taken in accordance with the authorization of the Congress,” it is said.
“And in accordance with the Federal Statute, the Congress is the only subject to legally disassemble the agency.”
It is invited to be appointed by the Director of the Director of the USAID, to open the USAID buildings to the employees, so that the USAID website would be renewed, for a refund and contracts for returning and mandatory notifications of the evacuation to abolish the staff.
He is looking for a judge to immediately stop the implementation of the Plan for the “bowel” of USAID, which was conducted by Elon Musk, because of the urgent need to continue with assistance programs.
“These actions have created a global humanitarian crisis suddenly stopping the key work of employees, recipients and suppliers in USAID. They cost thousands of US jobs. They also threatened US interests for national security,” the lawsuit said.
Thousands of USAID workers expect to be put on administrative leave from Friday night. The message published on the Agency’s website says this will be applied to all direct renunciation staff from 23:59 EST (04:59 GMT).
Rubio defended Trump’s moves against USAIDs on Wednesday, speaking of 200 workers agencies in Guatemala that he is not planning to stop distributing to foreign countries now. But he said programs must align with American priorities.
“The United States is not moving away from help,” said the best US diplomat. “Not.
“We will continue to provide foreign help and be involved in the programs, but it must be programs we can defend.”
“It has to be programs we can explain. These must be programs we can justify. Otherwise, we endanger the side of help.”
