McDonald’s settled a lawn for the Latino Scholarship Scholarship Company
McDonald’s has opened a longtime Diversity program For all races and ethnic readiness last week after a lawsuit of a legal group that opposes the practice of diversity, equality and involvement (dei).
The lawsuit was filed by American Alliance for equal rights (AAER), an organization dedicated to challenging preferences and discrimination based on race.
Aaer claimed that Quick food chain Hacer National Scholarship Program was discriminating to students who are not Latin/Latin, as the program demanded that the applicants have at least one parent/Latin heritage.
A settlement last week saw that McDonald’s agreed to open the program to the applicants of any race or ethnicity.

“We have come to the conclusion that resolving this lawsuit and the evolution of the program is the right thing for its recipients,” McDonald’s statement said. “In order to achieve this, we will remove the criteria for at least one parent to be Latin/Latin heritage. Instead, applicants must show their influence and contribution to the Latin/Latino community through their activities, leadership and service.”
According to the settlement, Hacer’s “Fulfillment and Requests” Pages and Requirements are originally stated that the applicants “must be from the family” that came from one of 22 Latin American land on the list.
The applicants also had to answer: “Are you from Latin/Latin heritage?”

In a statement, McDonald’s did not necessarily agree that the Hacer was discriminating, but did not want the lawsuit to end his longtime program or the endangerment of the applicant’s possibility to continue their educational aspiration.
“Let us be clear: We disagree with this claim,” McDonald’s said. “The legal challenge would mean that this year’s applicants would not have had the opportunity to compete for scholarships.”
The Hacer program, which awarded 17,000 students with more than $ 33 million scholarships over almost 40 years, received more than 3,000 applicants this year, said McDonald’s.
The deadline for this year’s application was also extended from February 6 to March 6 to adapt to new applicants, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was first filed on January 1, shortly after McDonald’s revision of civil rights and reduced his policy Dei policies.
Some changes included McDonald’s to finish their dei pledge for their suppliers and change the name of your team for diversity in the global involvement team. The chain also ended his participation in surveys that could evaluate the practices relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.

After returning results, Aaer claimed that McDonald’s still did not treat everyone honestly.

“It is astonishing that after what McDonald’s describes as a comprehensive audit of its programs and civil rights policies, the Hacer scholarship scholarship for Latin American scholarships was not labeled due to a violation of the Civic Rights Act of our country,” said President Aer Edward Blum.
According to McDonalds, the company will continue to work on on.
“McDonald’s position and our dedication are persistent,” the company said. “As part of our continuous efforts, our work develops.”
