Winmau World Masters: James Wade Brands Darts rivals are “lazy” and hit the requirements for titles before Littler Match | News Darts
James Wade rejected his doubts as “smiling” on the eve of his upcoming match with Luke Littler and believes that he can still surpass “lazy” rivals.
On Friday night, Wade reserved the last-16 consequence at the Milton Keynes tournament against Littler after defeating Grand Prix winner Mike de Decker 3-2 on Friday night.
After that, Wade, who has a World Master and Premier League in his career among 10 television titles, but is currently ranked outside the world’s best 10 top 10, suggesting that his best days are behind him.
“I still think it’s smiling that people don’t think they can win things, what will be,” Wade said.
“I still think I’m going to win TV Majore and see no reason not. After tonight’s performances, it’s not great.
“I don’t believe anyone is amazing except probably Luke and Luke [Littler and Humphries] And after that I can be quite lazy.
“They are not Phil Taylors. They are not best Michael Van Gerwens, but they are phenomenal players. But there are emptiness on the market and that is what it is.”
Playing before Littler has progressed to the last 16, with The world champion later only took 10 minutes to ship Andy Baetensa 3-0Wade added, “I honestly put my hand on my heart and I care about who I play.
“If I play well, I fight and work well. Obviously Luke does incredibly good, but that will be what will be.”
The last of Wade’s television titles came to the UK Open 2021, and the four -time semi -finalist of the World Cup was thrown out of this year’s tournament in Alexandra Palace in the second round without winning the set of Dutch Jermaine Wattimen. He lost a year before at the same stage by Canada Matt Campbell.
Wade is currently in 15th place in the world.
“Very disappointed with my ranked position because I know I’m better than a little,” said the 41-year-old player who is ahead.
“But we’ll see. The conversation is cheap, and we’ll move on and up.”
Asked if he set himself the same target for this year as 2024. Returning to the Top 10 worldwide, Wade admitted: “I did, but I failed miserable [last year]. I didn’t get to that point, which was really frustrating.
“I think i lost 98-ish [ranked player] In the World Cup – really, really frustrating. But that’s what it is, it wasn’t good enough, didn’t do enough.
“A few small turns and a tide would be enough, but I think 30 other players might say the same. But I believe I’m good enough and I believe that with some luck the tide will turn.”
