Lim Kim from South Korea will take three goals for the weekend after releasing a triple 69 69 69 in the second round of the Orlando Tournament in Orlando.
Kim led four after the first round and moved to 10 below the opening of the LPGA season. Linn Grant of Sweden shot 67 in Nona Golf & Country Club Lake, and now stands at seven below, while World No 1 Nelly Korda also shot 67 to join the third place with six below.
The cord is connected to the Japanese Rio Takeda and Irish Leon Maguire, each of which published 68 on Friday.
Kim, 29, had a seven bird without a bug in the first round, but on Friday she was on more adventures, combining six birds with three beats.
“Still well,” Kim said. “Different (from Thursday), the wind was a different direction, but still fun.”
Kim won the 2020s in the US Open and then left without a win on the LPGA tour until last November, when she broke through to win the Lotte Championship.
Grant rounded her with an eagle in the ninth hole of the Par-5. “I hit a four-surgide in green with about 220 meters,” she said. “Then I just had 12 feet and I came in.”
Grant, 25, will be in a mixture of weekends. Her only LPGA victory came on the day of Open 2023, but she is the sixfold winner of the Ladies European Tour.
Korda, 26, made the only port of today on its fourth hole, three 13th, to fall even a couple for the tournament. She bounced with consecutive birds at 14 and 15, added one in 18th and knocked on three more arrivals home.
“I just used a little more, made a few more shootings, hit several other solid shots,” Korda said. “(The course is) definitely playing a little softer and longer compared to past years.”
Korda was a sevenfold winner last season and wants to start in 2025. In a similar winning way.
Maguire, 30, had a double beetle on a pair of trie13. But more than he made up for the bird has been quite the last five holes of days.
“It’s my home course, so I know these holes pretty well,” she said. “I know I can bird them all, so I just try to give myself a chance. It hits a few really beautiful iron shots and I didn’t leave very far for the bird.”
The South Korean Jin Young Ko (70) is in the sixth in five below. Defender of Champion and World No. 2 Lydia who from New Zealand posted 67 to reach four for the tournament in equalizing for the seventh with Lauren Coughlin (68).
