Gaddafi Stadium that will surrender to the ICC for Champions Trophy 2025 11. February
The Pakistan Cricket Committee has announced that the iconic gaddafi stadium in Lahore will hand over the ICC on February 11, just over a week before the start of the ODO champion trophy. The reward will happen after the three or series of Pakistan against New Zealand and South Africa.
ICC set on January 31 as a deadline for handover all three places – the Gaddafi stadium, the National Stadium in Karachi and the Rawalpindi Stadium – which will host the Pakistan tournament.
The PCB source told the PTI that the final touches were applied to the Gaddafi stadium. The source admitted that the stadium was a construction site and noted that some ruin remained, which would soon be cleaned. After six months of renovation, the stadium is now closer to the completion.
“… this is a construction site and there will be some ruins, which will soon be removed. This stadium has been shaped after six months of work,” the source said.
The Pakistan Cricket Committee allegedly invested about 1.2 billion Pakistani rupees
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi examined the Rawalpindi Stadium on January 28, but reports from Pakistan’s ‘Dawn’ suggest that the Committee cannot fulfill the deadline of January 31 for the readiness of the champion trophy.
The Pakistan Cricket Committee allegedly invested about 1.2 billion Rupians of Pakistan in the upgrade and construction of new buildings in Karachi and Lahora. At the Gaddafi Stadium, the seat capacity is increased with new chairs, and 480 modern LED lights have been added to improve the quality of the broadcast.
