Jaime Munguia will merge with coach Eddy Reynoso to take over him as his new coach after an upset defeat from the fifth round of the little famous Bruno Surace last December.
Talent deficiency
This is a meaningless, futile move on Munguia’s part because Eddy Reynoso is not a magician who will magically give him a talent that does not exist. It’s like remodeling deck chairs on a sinking ship. Reynoso can’t save him.
Munguia (44-2, 35 ko) starts from Erik Mošales, captain of his sinking ship, in his knockout defeat of Surace on December 14 in Tijuana, Mexico. Morales did the best he could with Munguia, but could not block Surace’s shots like Kobre.
It was only a matter of time before he knocked out in that fight, and that was not a shock when it happened. If Munguia had the talent of Erika Morales, he should not move to his third coach.
Reynoso told @Boxaztec7 that he would work with a super middle candidate Munguia. This will allow Jaime to rub his shoulders with Canel Alvarez, who gave him a much criticized title last year, after his victories against these three fighters:
– John Ryder: *Removing the loss from Canel
– Sergiy Derevyanchenko: 39
– Gonzalo Gaston Coria
Most would agree Canelo never had to give munguia The title was recorded based on three super medium -sized victories after moving to 168 in 2023. Munguia looked terrible against Derevyanchenko, barely beat the narrowly unanimous decision in the 12th round of June 10, 2023.
Munguia has lost two of her last three struggles from moving to 168, and looks like it does not belong to this weight class. Not that he washed. This is more the case that Munguia lacks a talent to be one of the main players in 168. He has never been such a good fighter from starting.
Hardcore Boxing fans are well aware that Jaime has always been a limited fighter since 2019, when his fans got a controversial victory over Dennis Hogan and fans kicked out of the Arena. He carefully maneuvered the killers in 154, 160 and 168, to hit his mother’s load with large salary against Canel last year on May 4th.
There is more chance of grabbing a mid -category belt, but just because the division is currently infertile talent. Almost everyone with a stain of ability has a goal in winning the belt in 160, which is perfect for Munguia.
In vain hope
Reynoso is a longtime coach of Canela Alvarez, but he is no wonder. Although Eddy succeeded with Alvarez, he will not be able to do much with the munguia, unless protected from sharks with 168. If 100% is protected, he could pick up the belt if Canelo retired, but only if he is a careful match.
Munguia is expected to face Surace in a rematch on April 12 in Tijuana. It is a struggle he could lose again, and it won’t matter if Reynoso is that night in his corner. Surace has a right hand similar to a cobra that throws that Munguia is too slow to block
