Ronald Reagan National Airport stops all the take -off and landings after a collision in peace.
The regional aircraft and military helicopter collided in Midar in Washington, DC, the United States, forcing stopping all the take -off and landings at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the authorities said.
Jet Airlines Bombardier Crj700 collided with Black Hawk Sikorsky UH-60 helicopter while on his way to Wichit, Kansas, Federal Air Force (FAA) said on Wednesday.
“FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB will conduct an investigation,” the Air Force statement related to the National Transport Safety Committee states.
Talking about Fox News, the print secretary of the Karolina Leavitt White House said US President Donald Trump was familiar with the situation.
“Please say a prayer for anyone involved in a collision tonight at the airport,” said US Vice President JD Vance on X.
“We follow the situation, but for now we hope for the best.”
Police and fire services have announced that there are several search and rescue agencies in Rijeka Potomac.
“Firefighters on the spot,” the Columbia Fire Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Service announced in the post on X.
Al Jazeera Shihab Rattans, reporting from Washington, DC, said there was a “huge response” at the scene of the accident, including vehicles and emergency ships.
“We should be very clear, this is the main local airport that serves Washington, DC, a metropolitan area,” said Rattani.
“We believe that both of these aircraft are in Rijeka,” Rattansi said. “So it’s a huge concern now.”
The video posted on social networks showed that two aircraft collide and explode in flames.
There were no immediate reports on the number of victims.
Bombardier CRJ700 has a maximum capacity of 78 passengers, according to Aircraft brokerge Jetset Group.
The US army confirmed that his helicopter was carrying three staff at the time of the collision.
Sikorsky H-60 can transport up to 11 fully equipped soldiers, states on the Vojnica.com website.
American senator Roger Marshall, who represents Kansas, described the disaster as “nothing less than a nightmare.”
“My prayer is that God wraps his hands around every sacrifice and still be with their families. There are no words that could make this story easier,” Marshall said on X.
“I ask the world to join me in prayer for Kansas tonight, the first answers, the rescue crews and everyone involved in this terrible accident.”
