Lombardy’s packages were one of the most dominant teams of era. He led Green Bay up to three other NFL Championships before the idea of an NFL against AFL was thoughtful.
Due to history, the Super Bowl trophy is named after Lombardy. It is one of the most prestigious trophies in sports, next to the Lord Stanley Cup and the FIFA World Cup trophy.
Legendary main coach Bill Belichick talked about Super Bowl with Jim Gray on “Let’s go!” Podcast. He told Gray that players really deserve the credit for winning Super Bowl. The legendary sports athlete recalled Belichick that Lombardi was called a trophy, not Bart Starr, who was the MVP of the first two games.
“Maybe you should name Brady Trophy,” Belichick joked, referring to the legend of New England Patriots Tom Brady. “He won seven of them.”

Belichick said the teams could not win without good players. He said he learned that when he was a defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells with the New York Giants and when he helped to compile a huge defense of Hall of Fame with the Patriots.

“You can’t beat games without good players. I don’t care who’s coach. It’s impossible. You can’t win without good players,” he said. “I discovered it when I had (Lawrence) Taylor, (Carl) Banks, Harry Carson, Jim Burt, Everson Walls, all those guys with the Giants.
“The same thing when we got well in Cleveland, and in a new England it is (Willie) McGigest, it’s (Mike) Vrabel, it’s (Tedy) Bruschi, it’s Corey Dillon, it’s Randy Moss, Troy Brown, Lawyer Malloy , Ty Law, Rodney Harrison won games.
