The Indian Fast Bowlingard Jasprit Bumrah won the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Award for the male cricket of the year at the ICC Award, with the New Zealand versatile Amelia Kerr a woman honor.
Bumrah beat English couple Joea Root -ai Harry Brook, as well as Australian Travis headed for the award, and the fifth recipient of history after Rahul Dravid (2004), Sachin Tendulkar (2010), Ravicharndran Ashwin (2016) and Virat Kohli (2017 , 2018).
This comes as a recognition for Bumrah’s extraordinary 2024, in which the 31-year-old dominated opponents in the longest and shortest game format.

The New Zealand versatile Amelia Kerr won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint trophy for the female cricket of the year of the year, defeating Southern Africa Laura Wolvaardt, Sri Lanka Chamari Athapathth and Australian Annabel Sutherland in the prestigious award.
Kerr is the first New Zealander to seek the award, twice collected by the English Nat Sciver-Brunt, Australian Ellyse Perry and the Indian Smiri Mandhana since it was founded in 2017.
The 24-year-old is also the first kiwi to win any form of the total female trophy of the year.
Kerr was a player of the match in the World 2024 World Championships, while the white ferns beat South Africa, reaching 43 of 38 delivery and then took 3-24, with her Wickkets, including two of the first three Proteas in Wolvaardt and Anneka Bosch.
She claimed 15 shots during the tournament, most of the bowlers in one edition of the T20 World Cup, stroked 13 who took English Anal Shrubsole (2014) and Australian Megan Schutt (2020).
