Giants’ Kayvon Thibodeaux, Cowboys’ big Dez Bryant get into X beef after Saquon Barkley’s comments

A brilliant NFC Championship performance by the Philadelphia Eagles Saquon Barkley on Sunday, he led one Dallas Cowboys great to lash out at the New York Giants for letting him go, a story that has been used all season.

But Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux didn’t appreciate Dez Bryant’s posts on X, leading to some public spats as they went back and forth.

Barkley scored three touchdowns on the ground in the Eagles’ 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders to punch a ticket to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Bryant fired off a tweet while Barkley gambled commanderspoking fun at the Giants for letting their star running back leave in free agency and eventually signing with the division rival Eagles.

“The Giants sure are sick; I don’t care what anyone says,” Bryant posted with a smiley emoji.

Thibodeaux saw the tweet coming from Bryant hours after he posted it, but he wasted no time lashing out at Bryant about the lack of a championship in his own career.

“We have the same amount of SBs (Super Bowls),” Thibodeaux’s quote tweeted over Bryant’s first post.

Bryant answered five minutes later and didn’t hold back his thoughts on the Giants.

“That’s a fact, but I’ve had a great career and I’m on the scoresheet [book emoji]..oooooooo….I’m good with that!” Bryant said.

“You guys released the best player in the NFL this year and the GM’s son told him right to his face to pick Jayden Daniels. You shouldn’t be talking to me, you should be talking to your stupid GM…”

That was just the beginning for these two as Thibodeaux added, “From now on I’m shooting every old head that mentions the Giants.” But it led to more than just Bryant.

“The only player out there that is (sic) legit is Malik Nabers. . . . Other than that, I’m sorry to tell you my friend, you guys are awful,” Bryant said. “Quit all this political bullshit! ..You better hope they don’t sell your ass the way you brag about it…Give it up my friend…I bet you’re not asking for a trade or a reduction.”

Thibodeaux tried to defuse the tension, but Bryant continued.

Thibodeaux complied, asking the former manager, “Why didn’t you retire?” He also implied that Bryant, 36, would answer Giants GM Joe Schoen’s call if asked to work hard for a roster spot.

“I bet you’ll show up,” Thibodeaux said.

“This is how I know..you don’t..”, Bryant replied. “One day we’ll rap in person! I’m way off the spectrum! I’m here to get you on the game… I hate that you misinterpreted my tweet… I’m done going back and forth.. I pray you have a successful career.”

One NFL fan ended up asking what the two were arguing about.

“Everybody thinks they can say something about the team I represent….not on my watch,” Thibodeaux replied with a smiley emoticon. “Until I’m no longer a Giant, I have (sic) to stand on offer (sic).”

Thibodeaux was the fifth pick of the Oregon Giants out of the 2022 NFL Draft, and after posting 11.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in a breakout 2023 campaign, he regressed stat-wise with 5.5 sacks and 28 combined tackles compared to 50 years ago. He also only played 12 games in 2024.
