Air travel has certainly changed over time, and what was once an opportunity to dress smartly has become much more casual.
Recently, Issued by Spirit Airlines A new dress code for its customers, following several instances in the news of customers being removed from flights due to clothing.
Now, customers on Spirit Airlines are subject to removal from its flights if they are “barefoot or inadequately clad (i.e. clothing that shows through clothing; not adequately covered; exposed breasts, buttocks or other private parts) or whose clothing or article or article , including body art, is casual, obscene or offensive in nature.”
Here are some other rules airlines have regarding clothing. Do any of these surprise you?
1. Hawaiian Airlines

Shorts are fine, but “Speedos and bikini bottoms are not allowed,” Hawaiian Airlines said. And bare feet are not okay either.
“In all cases, clothing must not be casual, obscene or obviously offensive to others,” Hawaiian Airlines said.

2. Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines passengers cannot wear clothing that is “casual, obscene or blatantly offensive,” and passengers must wear shoes.

3. United Airlines
Similar to Southwest, United passengers have a fairly loose dress code. United Airlines’ contract of carriage stipulates that passengers must be “properly dressed.”
Clothing cannot be “casual, obscene or offensive” and passengers must wear shoes.

4. American Airlines
American Airlines’ Cart code It doesn’t specify what’s not allowed, but says passengers must “dress appropriately; no bare feet or offensive clothing.”

5. Delta Air Lines
Delta’s code of carriage does not have a specific dress code, but states that passengers may be removed when their “conduct, clothing, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or inconvenience to other passengers.”

6. Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has a dress code for its business class and above passengers, its website says.

“Depending on your destination, there are different rules and regulations about the type of clothing you should wear. The Dress Code is designed to ensure the comfort and safety of travelers while traveling, so it’s important to understand the rules before you leave,” Qatar Airways said.

This dress code prohibits shorts, sportswear and “excessively revealing clothing”, and business class passengers should be dressed “smart casual”.
“Passengers should pay attention to the dress code when traveling in business class, as this will ensure their comfort and respect for other passengers,” Qatar Airways said.
