Suryakumar Yadav walks down to Tilak Varma after his match-winning knock in the Chennai T20i
Tilak Varma, on Saturday (January 25), starred with the bat as India won a thriller against England in the second T20I at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Batting first, England posted a competitive total of 165/9 in the allotted 20 overs. The visitors appeared at 90 for 5 at one stage, before being rescued by the lower order players. The likes of Brydon Carse (31) and Jamie Smith (22) played Handy kucks towards the end to power their team to a total of 150 plus.
Captain Jos Buttler once again bested his side, scoring 45 runs off 30 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. For India, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel picked up 2 walks each.
In reply, India got off to a shaky start. The hero of the first T20i, Abhishek Sharma started his knock by hitting Jofra Archer for three fours in the first but was dismissed by Mark Wood in the second. India also lost the wickets of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav in the Powerplay.

Suryakumar Yadav gets down in front of Tilak Varma:
With Hardik Pandya and Dhruv Jurel also managing to fire, India soon found themselves at 78 for 5. However, Tilak Varma stood firm at one end and stayed till the end to take the hosts home.
He and Washington Sundar revived India’s chances by adding 38 runs for the sixth wicket. The stand ended with Sundar departing for 26. Axar Patel also failed to impress with the bat but did not affect Tilak Varma.
In the end, the equation was 6 runs from the last over and Tilak Varma needed just two deliveries to hit the winning runs. And after the young batsman’s match-winning knock, captain Suryakumar Yadav came up with a heartwarming gesture for him.
As Tilak Varma walked out of the ground, Suryakumar Yadav bowed before him and the young bowler also made sure to return a similar gesture. Both teammates then shook hands before embracing each other in a heartfelt moment.
