David Warner, Glenn Maxwell among others named in BBL|14 team of the tournament
Team of the Tournament to continue Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 was announced. Eight BBL coaches have selected a special team that includes some of the best performers who have shone in the competition with their supreme consistency.
David Warner will lead the special team
Two players from BBL|14 finalists, the Hobart Hurricanes, have been selected: Mitchell Owen and Team David. Best scorer Cooper Connolly from the Perth Scorchers also earned a place in the team. Sydney Thunder’s David Warner was appointed captain of this special team, while Sam Billings assumes the role of goalkeeper. Warner, who is the second most-capped player in the tournament, brings his wealth of experience and leadership to the team, adding additional depth to the lineup.
Notably, five of the 12 squad members are still in the hunt for the BBL|14 title as the Sixers take on the Thunder in their first BBL Finals (Challenger) derby in Sydney at the SCG on Friday. An exciting contest will see both teams battle it out for a place in the finals, with the winner progressing to face the Hurricanes in the much-anticipated title clash next Monday.
