The new club are in talks to sign the “incredible” Newcastle player this month
Newcastle United are now in active talks to allow the “incredible” player to leave this month, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Newcastle could be ready for more departures
The Magpies are looking to reshape their squad this winter, meaning some long-serving players could move on before the transfer window closes.
Eddie Howe has now admitted that Miguel Almiron’s departure was forced upon them by their need to comply Premier Leaguefinancial rules, saying: “He was top class. He lives his life through the football club. It’s not ideal, but that’s the reality of PSR.
“We don’t want to lose players, but we know that there is a reality with PSR and the constant management of that situation.
“We’ve said many times over the last few weeks that we’re going to make more decisions not based on football, but based on the decisions we potentially have to make for the future.”
It was announced earlier this month that the defense attorney Lloyd Kelly could also be out St. James’ Park this month, with Fenerbahce ready to do a deal and a new club entering the race for the defender.
According to Fabrizio Romano, who posted an update on X, Juventus held a meeting yesterday to discuss a deal for Kellyidentifying him as a target this winter.
Football Insider’s Mick Brown is provided a further update on the situation, suggesting the Magpies could be willing to accept a bid for the centre-back, given that adherence to profit and sustainability rules must be considered.

Brown also offers a more general update on Newcastle’s transfer policy, saying: “From what I hear, they would consider selling most of the secondary players at the club for the right price.”
Newcastle should cash in on Kelly
The former AFC Bournemouth man has failed to break into contention since arriving this summer, making just one appearance one minutes in the Premier League since the end of November, so it might be wise to cash in on him this winter.
It seems unlikely that a huge offer will come to Newcastle, given the Englishman is only a fringe player, but any sale would be a net profit as he arrived on a free transfer, meaning it could be very tempting to let him go.
However, if talks with Juventus do not go through, the 26-year-old could be useful as a rotation option in the second half of the season, and there are signs he could have plenty to offer at St. .. James’ Park if he manages to get back on his feet.
Former Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil praised defender as “incredible” for his performance in the 1-0 win over Liverpool just under two years ago, and Howe will be hoping he can return to those levels as soon as possible.
