Wolves have struck gold with a “sensational” ace worth more than Manu Silva
It was a difficult season for Wolverhampton Wanderers for many reasons, not least because they are fighting for survival and are currently in the middle of a fight for survival. Plus, a new manager Vitor Pereira so far he has earned them some key points.
In a season like the one Wolves are having, it is crucial that the whole team is coherent and united. However, this is not the case with former club captain Mario Lemin, who was recently kicked out of the squad after revealing that he wanted to leave. explained Pereira after the recent 3-1 defeat at Chelsea “he’s out until the market closes”.
Wolves’ potential replacement for Lemina, Manu Silva, was lined up but the deal fell through last week.
Why the deal with Manu Silva failed
It’s been a frustrating week at Molineux, with Lema’s future still up in the air and his replacement looking set to put pen to paper and sign on the dotted line. Manu Silva, a 23-year-old defensive midfielder who previously played for Portugal’s Vitoria Guimaraes, seemed destined to play for the old gold.
However, at the last moment, A deal worth £10m they agreed because the young midfielder was captured by the Portuguese giant Benfica. Like talkSPORT he explained, Aguias “flew in at the last minute” and convinced him to stay in his homeland. Benfica, managed by former Wolves boss Bruno Lage, can offer Champions League football, which is hard to turn down.
It was certainly a huge blow for Wolves to miss out on the talented 23-year-old, who already has plenty of experience at first-team level. This appointment for Vitoria Guimaraes has featured 28 timeswith four goals and two assists.
£10m would be a steal for someone with so much potential and already brilliant ability to base his midfield. According to FBrefhe averages 4.54 tackles and interceptions per game, 9% of the best midfielders in leagues similar in quality to the Portuguese league.
As good a signing as Silva is, Staro zlato still have depth in midfield, including someone whose transfer value far exceeds what they would pay for the youngster.
Current Wolves midfield star at Molineux
This is about the Brazilian star Andre. He joined the club only last summer, for fee of £18.5m upfront, a value that has now risen to more than double the amount they almost paid for Silva this month.
Andre is now worth more than twice as much as Silva, £21 million to be exact according to Transfermarktwhich already shows the large investments from Stari Zlat. But it seems that the “sensational” star, as described by football statistician Statman Davehe could become even more expensive if he continues to be a key man in the first division.

Indeed, given some of his impressive defensive numbers in the Premier League, it’s no surprise that Andre is worth twice as much as Silva.
According to FBrefThe Brazilian averages 4.6 tackles and interceptions per game, slightly more than Benfica’s new star. That puts him in the 83rd percentile of midfielders in the Premier League. Andre’s numbers outside of that are impressive.

Signing Andre has been a big investment for Stara Zlata so far. Not only has he proven that he is worth even more than Silva, but he has played well in the middle of the park from Stari Zlata so far.
If the Brazilian manages to maintain this form, Wolves could be looking at an even bigger increase in their transfer value.
