Honda Presents World Premiere of BF300 Outboard Motor at Dusseldorf Boat Show 2025 By Investing.com
TOKYO, January 20, 2025 – (JCN Newswire) – – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (NYSE:) today presented the world premiere of the new BF300 large-size outboard motor at the Dusseldorf Boat Show 2025, taking place in Dusseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, from January 18 to 26, 2025. The BF300 will go on sale consecutively in Japan, Europe and Asia Regions before the end of 2025.
Using the 4,952cc (302in3) V8 engine developed for the BF350, Honda’s flagship marine outboard model that went on sale in February 2024, the BF300 delivers powerful propulsion with a maximum output of 300 horsepower. Demonstrating high performance and seaworthiness achieved through abundant torque, the BF300 is designed to run on regular gasoline despite its high power output. In recent years, marine recreational activities using large boats have become increasingly popular, mainly in North America and Europe. In this context, and after the introduction of the BF350, Honda introduces the BF300, another high-powered outboard motor, to meet the needs of a larger number of customers.
The BF300 is equipped with enhanced support features to provide customers with a smoother and more comfortable sailing experience, including new functions first introduced with the BF350, such as the cruise control function, which allows cruising at a set boat speed. or engine speed (rpm), as well as a trim assist function, which automatically adjusts the trim angle (1) to maintain one of the preset patterns. The BF300 also features an auto-tilt function to automatically fully tilt the outboard up/down(2), greatly increasing the convenience of docking and/or storing the outboard. Moreover, a new structure of engine cover and oil filter is adopted to facilitate attachment and detachment to reduce the user’s maintenance burden.
By updating the ECU function of the base model, specifically the BF350, the BF300 has further improved operating comfort. In particular, when using three outboard motors together, the neutral control function can be added to the center mounted outboard motor to make the board rotate more stably in place. Together with the market launch of the BF300, it is planned to install this function on the BF350.
In terms of styling, inheriting the “Noble Motion Form” design concept of the BF350, the BF300 has a high-rigidity parts configuration and a high-quality shape. Its refined, slim design is adaptable to different body shapes and usage environments.
