Napoli director offers update on interest in Man Utd’s Alejandro Garnach
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna admitted that the club is “ready” for it sign replacement for winger Khvich Kvaratskhelia in response to links with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
Kvaratskhelia left for Paris Saint-Germain last week in a deal worth around €70m (£59.1m) and it is believed Napoli turned to Garnacho as their preferred substitute.
Manna was specifically asked if Napoli would try to lure Garnach United. Although he refused to go into details, he admitted that the club is working hard to find Kvaratskhelia’s replacement.
“We are making some assessments, we mustn’t get carried away,” he said Sky Sports Italy. “There are expectations, we will be ready, but on Napoli’s terms.”
United are not believed to be actively looking to offload Garnach, who he owns potential availability caught Chelsea’s eyebut would be prepared to listen to offers of around £60m.
The fee is believed to be too much for Napoli, who are seeking a deal worth around £42.2m, according to Corriere dello Sport.
It is claimed that Napoli “will not wait much longer” for United to compromise on their asking price for Garnach before pursuing alternative targets. Marcus Rashford was previously mooted as an option, but the Englishman is attracting greater interest from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
