Emery could soon launch the next Grealish for Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery will be keen to add some more quality to his squad after signing Borussia Dortmund striker Donyella Malen.

If he can maintain his current form, Emery will have the opportunity to progress deep in both Europe and the Premier League, as he looks to end their major trophy drought by winning the FA Cup.

When the Englishman came to Villa, it was a transfer with an eye on the future. Rogers enjoyed a productive spell at Middlesbrough but the consensus was that he would have to bide his time and break into Emery’s squad.

Impressive across a range of metrics, Rogers offers plenty to this Villa team, whether on the left flank or just behind the main striker.

Emery has a genuine superstar in his midst, which could see the club secure a significant return on their initial investment in the coming years.

However, could Rogers possibly have competition? As Villa’s young starlet recently recalled from his loan spell, he looks set to stay in the Midlands, despite plenty of clubs interested in signing him.

Louie Barry is someone who, if given the opportunity, can potentially make a similar impact as Rogers has made over the past 12 months.

Regardless of his decision, there is clear potential there and if Barry develops at Villa in the same way that Rogers has, then he could break into the team sooner rather than later.
