Pence plans to attend Trump’s inauguration, New York Times Reuters reports
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former US Vice President Mike Pence plans to attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, The New York Times (NYSE: ) reported on Friday, citing two people with knowledge of the planning.
Representatives for Pence and Trump did not immediately comment.
Pence, vice president during Trump’s first administration, ran against the former president for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in last year’s election.
Pence, who has not endorsed his former boss ahead of the 2024 election, has had a strained relationship with Trump since the end of his first term, which ran from 2017 to 2021.
On January 6, 2021, Pence denied Trump’s request to reverse his defeat in the 2020 election.
